Through a commitment of hands-on action, members in 122 chapters fund and staff philanthropic programs in local communities.

Atlanta Chapter

Assistance League of Atlanta has over 250 members who help children and adults in need rebuild their lives and get a fresh start. In 2009-2010, our members donated more than 52,000 volunteer hours to the chapter's six philanthropic programs and Attic Treasures Thrift Shop.
We are a 100 percent volunteer organization. This means we have no employees, no salaried executive director, and no paid oversight Board of Directors. Our members do it all. Come join us and become part of our community service efforts to help children and adults in need.

Membership Requirements
If you have a caring heart, a generous spirit, and a desire to help people in need, please consider joining us. We want those interested in membership to understand the commitment we ask of our members. Requirements include:
- Work 8 hours every month in the Attic Treasures Thrift Shop (the major source of income to support our programs)
- Attend monthly meetings (except July and August)
- Work on at least one philanthropic program
Prior to joining, individuals attend a series of orientation meetings to ensure they fully understand the commitment they are making and become familiar with the philanthropic programs and fundraising activities of the organization.
Membership Criteria
Membership in Assistance League of Atlanta is open to individuals interested in community service who are willing and able to meet the requirements of active membership as stated in the bylaws and standing rules of the chapter.
Membership in Assistance League of Atlanta is open to all persons regardless of age, sex, race, color, creed or ethnic background.
Assistance League of Atlanta is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization and donations are tax deductible. Our Donor Privacy Policy is available for review.
